Helping Kids Succeed: The YMCA's 7th Annual STEAM Fair
At the Y, we help kids succeed. This week, we hosted our 7th Annual STEAM Fair in partnership with the Virginia Air & Space Science Center and TowneBank. Through their partnership, we were able to host over 1,200 summer campers at the event. This event was an opportunity for our summer campers to delve into the worlds of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
A Celebration of Curiosity and Learning
The fair was a huge success, bringing together over 1,200 campers eager to explore and learn. The atmosphere was bustling with excitement as the kids engaged at interactive stations in partnership with Canon, W.M. Jordan Company, ODU Brooks Crossing Innovation Lab, and Jefferson Lab. The interactive stations provided hands-on learning experiences that were both educational and entertaining.
Showcasing Creativity
One of the highlights of the fair was the presentation of projects by our campers. These young innovators worked hard on their projects, which were judged by our esteemed panel of experts. The project explored the importance of water filtration and its uses. They were provided with select materials from which to create their filters. Each project was a testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion for learning.
Gratitude to Our Volunteers and Partners
An event of this scale wouldn't have been possible without the support of our volunteers and partners. We extend our thanks to all the volunteers who dedicated their time. Your commitment and enthusiasm made a significant difference.
