WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE Y
At the Y, We Prevent Drowning
When Zachariah was three, a frightening accident during a swim lesson left him afraid of the water. For years, he stayed away, unsure if he’d ever feel comfortable swimming again. Now, eight years later, he’s ready to face his fear.
At the Y, We Help Kids Succeed
Born at just 32 weeks, JoJo faced many health challenges early on. When his mom, KayMarie, needed support while undergoing chemo, they turned to the Y—a place that quickly became JoJo’s second home. From the moment he stepped through the doors, he never wanted to leave.
At the Y, We Prepare Teens for Life
The Y Achievers program transformed Caliyiah’s life, giving her the confidence to open up and connect with others. Before joining, she had little to do after school and kept to herself. But after meeting the Teen Directors, she found a safe and welcoming space at the Y—one that encouraged her to step outside her comfort zone.
At the Y, We Help People Grow Healthier in Spirit, Mind, and Body
After retiring, Sarah felt stressed, out of shape, and unsure of where to start. That’s when she discovered the Y—and it quickly became more than just a place to work out. She found her passion in water aerobics, not only transforming her health but also stepping up to teach classes and inspire others.
