When Cade joined the YMCA swim program, water safety was especially important to his family. He began with hesitation, but through patient instruction and a supportive, inclusive environment, he gained confidence, learning to walk and float in deeper water while building trust with YMCA volunteers.

Kathy’s journey changed in 2023 when she was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery and radiation. Because of the tumor’s location, she sometimes needs extra time to process, but she continues to show up with determination and courage.
